Bio: Eby Aka
Founding Member & Executive Director
Eby Aka
Eby Aka was born and raised in the West African Country of Cote d'Ivoire where he studied. He taught English in local schools, French and African Studies at the International Christian Academy of West Africa (American School) before moving to the United States.
Initiator of the OneAfrica University Project
Eby grew up in an educational system that did not give the children of his generation a glimpse of what they could possibly become. His journey overcoming these low expectations and obstacles is an example of what persistence allows you to become.
Eby is no stranger to the challenges and difficulties facing the youth today. He knows the areas where they are hurting the most.
Keeping in mind the same challenges and hardships of his childhood, Eby has made education the passion of his life. His time in teaching and nonprofit has been a journey rich in service from Africa to the United Sates.
Eby has a strong belief that good education can empower all children no matter their ethnicity, cultural, social, and economic background, to overcome challenges and rise above their circumstances to achieve their dreams and contribute to their communities and the global society. The OneAfrica University project was one of his dreams to serve the valued, brilliant, and ambitious youth of the Africa continent; an effort to give them the compass to start their African STEM journey in the fields of computer science, technology, and engineering.
His son and daughter are the best thing that ever happened to him as he always says joyfully; and writing is his passion.
